“My pre-race diet has also changed with each competition. Some things that remain the same are: decreasing and slowly increasing water, along with decreasing carbohydrates and a sudden increase about two days before the race. Everything else remains pretty much the same. My professional debut in May will have a totally different approach to peak week,” she says.

“My motivation is myself. I was never good at many things growing up and I’ve certainly found something I’m good at. Doing well in bikini competitions has made me love the process. All the diets, intense workouts, preparations and shows. Preparation keeps me motivated! I look up to many other IFBB Pro Bikini competitors, but there are also some NPC competitors who keep me inspired to do what I do every day. One of them is my own Bikini client and friend,” she told Hard Fitness.

In one post, Casey revealed that she spent her “young adult years” worrying about her appearance. “I drove myself 😵‍💫 with restrictions and low calorie diets, and HOURS of cardio. I skipped class when I hated my body and didn’t want anyone to see me. I couldn’t feel my legs and planned to have a little “cow” with the food (for however long I could hold out). This led to a vicious cycle of overeating and “burning out” for almost 5 months. It destroyed my mind and then destroyed it. my body,” she said. “I was scared to eat and stop burning calories. I was afraid of being in my own mind and body to know what he would uncontrollably think and do next. It only took less than 5 months of consistent bad eating habits and catabolic activity to completely destroy my mindset, my social life and my metabolism. My internal health suffered mentally and physically and I spent the next year and a half with self-loathing and blaming myself and not knowing how to fix it, I ended up not liking my body anymore. , slowly isolating myself and losing a lot of trust in my own judgment about what to do next… Eventually, I had to do the hard things, I had to eat more, run less, I had to look at my daily food fears. in the eyes and came to the conclusion that I needed to slowly build confidence in the integration of food and calories and ACCEPT what I had done to get to a place where my body had nowhere else to go but to consume more calories (.slowly), I had to trust the method again (daily), I had to stop thinking about cardio and make sure my body received the energy from the foods I ate to heal and adapt to a healthier metabolism. It was HARD, but I committed to having a body I loved on the outside, renewing what I needed on the inside. I’m here to tell you this because I went through this process of metabolic decline and damage, gained more body fat, and had less confidence in EVERYTHING than I did at the beginning. I went through over a year of metabolic and MENTAL recovery (much longer than the time it took me to hit rock bottom). One year was a BLIP in time and is 1000% worth everything I own now. I now live, eat and train for sustainability with my future in mind.
