Tyler Kalbac Joins Miami Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center

Tyler Kalbac has joined the Miami Center for Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, where he will perform general orthopedic surgery and specialize in foot and ankle operations.

The clinic is located at 6701 Sunset Dr., Suite 201, in South Miami and has been in business for over 50 years.

“I am very proud to return home and join the Miami Center for Orthopedic and Sports Medicine as a third-generation orthopedic surgeon,” said Dr. Kalbac. “My grandfather founded the clinic and I will join my father, Dr. Daniel Kalbac, in improving patients’ lives through advanced surgical techniques.”

Dr. Tyler Kalbac received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and earned his medical degree from Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Kentucky, where he gained extensive experience treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions, including sports injuries, degenerative diseases, and trauma to the entire musculoskeletal system.

Following his residency, Dr. Kalbac completed the OrthoCarolina Foot & Ankle Fellowship in Charlotte, NC. There he learned to manage complex foot and ankle pathologies from leaders in the field of orthopedic surgery.

“My primary focus is lower extremity care, including fractures, sports injuries, joint replacement, foot and ankle reconstruction, bunions, toe deformities, correction of flat feet, Achilles tendinopathy, arthritis and Charcot arthropathy.”

Kalbac is a staff physician at Palmer Trinity School in Palmetto Bay and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society.

He and his wife, Jenni, have a 2-year-old daughter named Maddie. His interests include triathlon, kayaking, rock climbing, ocean snorkeling and spearfishing.
